Day 1: Arrival
Since most flights to Bucaramanga arrive late in the day, there are no specific activities planned on the first day. Upon arrival, we will pick you up directly at Bucaramanga´s Palonegro Airport (or the central bus station) holding a sign with your name on it and take you to the hotel. If you do not arrive at night and wish to do activities on your first day, we will certainly support you and provide all the information that you need.
Day 2: Curití, Gallineral and Socorro
After a one and a half to two-hour ride from Bucaramanga you will arrive in Curití where you have the possibility of exploring the market place and streets of the small colonial town, swim in the river and/or do optional activities such as caving or paragliding.
The tour continuous to the park “Gallineral” which is known for the local beautiful tree “Gallinero”.
In the afternoon you will learn a lot about the Colombian history in the colonial town Socorro where the fight for the Colombian independence from Spain began. If there is time, we can drive up the hill from Socorro and enjoy an amazing view.
Day 3: Waterfall Juan Curí
On this day you will visit the spectacular Juan Curí Waterfalls, up to 70-meter (230-feet) high waterfalls in the tropical rainforest of the Andean mountain range. You will be able to swim, as well as climb up the lower parts of the waterfall and enjoy the nature. Lunch will be served close to the waterfalls.
Optional activities include canyoneering (B. E. canyoning) down the 70-meter waterfall on a secured rope, rafting or caving.
For further information and pictures of the place go to Juan Curí Waterfalls.
Day 4: Barichara
After breakfast we will take a 30-minute ride to Barichara, known as the most beautiful colonial town in Colombia. In Barichara you will learn a lot about the culture including churches, chapels, cemeteries, arts, craftsmanship, etc. There is also a lovely little nature trail starting right in Barichara.
In the afternoon/ evening we will drive back to Bucaramanga. Of course, you have the option to stay additional days for a fair price.
For further information and pictures of the place go to Colonial Town Barichara.
Day 5: Departure
If your flight (or bus) is on this day or on any other day, we will give you a ride to the airport (or bus station).
